Regain daily living skills and independence through personalized occupational therapy.
Occupational Therapy Services in East Tennessee
Tristar’s occupational therapy program helps patients regain the ability to perform everyday activities after injury, surgery, or illness. Our licensed occupational therapists work with you to rebuild the skills you need for independent living — from getting dressed and cooking meals to returning to work and enjoying hobbies.
We provide occupational therapy at our clinics throughout East Tennessee, including Maryville, Morristown, Johnson City, Newport, Bean Station, Jefferson City, Rogersville, and New Tazewell.
Who Benefits from Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy is especially beneficial for patients recovering from stroke or neurological conditions, hand and upper extremity injuries, joint replacement surgery, traumatic brain injury, repetitive strain injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome, and chronic conditions that limit daily function. Our OT team evaluates how your condition affects your ability to perform daily tasks and designs a treatment plan to help you regain maximum independence.
Our Approach to OT
Every occupational therapy program at Tristar begins with a comprehensive functional assessment. We evaluate your strength, coordination, range of motion, and ability to complete activities of daily living. From there, we design a plan that may include fine motor skill training, adaptive technique education, custom splinting, ergonomic workspace modifications, and cognitive and sensory retraining.
Difference Between PT and OT
While physical therapy focuses primarily on restoring movement and reducing pain, occupational therapy addresses how you perform functional tasks in your daily life. Many patients benefit from both services working together, and our team coordinates care to ensure seamless treatment.
