Vestibular Rehabilitation in East Tennessee

Our therapists are specially trained to diagnose and treat disorders of the vestibular system — the inner ear and brain pathways that control balance and spatial orientation.

Conditions We Treat

Vestibular rehabilitation is effective for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), labyrinthitis and vestibular neuritis, Meniere’s disease, concussion-related dizziness, age-related balance decline, and persistent dizziness after inner ear infections. BPPV is the most common vestibular disorder and can often be resolved in just 1 to 3 treatment sessions using specific repositioning techniques.

How Vestibular Therapy Works

Your therapist will perform a comprehensive balance and vestibular assessment, including specific positional tests to identify the source of your symptoms. Treatment may include canalith repositioning maneuvers (Epley maneuver) for BPPV, gaze stabilization exercises, habituation training for motion sensitivity, balance and gait training, and fall prevention strategies. Most patients see significant improvement within 4 to 6 visits.
